Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Renewable Energy Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the design, analysis, evaluation, and optimisation of renewable energy projects—primarily wind and solar. You will work closely with technical, development, and operational teams to ensure accurate assessments, compliance with industry standards, and delivery of bankable, data-driven insights.

Responsibilities:

Project Development & Technical Studies

  • Conduct wind and solar resource assessments, including site selection, micro-siting, and layout optimisation.
  • Design and support bankable measurement campaigns for wind and solar projects.
  • Perform energy yield assessments (pre- and post-construction).
  • Evaluate site suitability, turbulence intensity, and environmental constraints.

Data Analysis & Performance Monitoring

  • Analyse SCADA data to assess operational performance, detect faults, and identify optimisation opportunities.
  • Conduct power curve validation and verification according to international standards.
  • Monitor long-term plant performance and recommend improvement strategies.

Technical Reviews & Compliance

  • Contribute to technical due diligence processes for investment, acquisition, and financing.
  • Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and bankable documentation.
  • Ensure all work aligns with IEC, ISO, and industry best practices.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate, high-quality engineering outputs.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders, project managers, and clients.
  • Support continuous improvement of internal tools, methodologies, and analytical models.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Renewable Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies—especially wind and solar systems.
  • Experience with resource assessment tools (e.g., WAsP, WindPRO, OpenWind, PVsyst).
  • Proficiency in data analysis and modelling using Python, MATLAB, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems, wind turbine technology, and power curve analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
